How can i hide a specific type of ticket from the clients portal view

One of our clients wants to hide tickets of the type “service” from their requesters portal view, however they have some questions.

can they do this trough the portal customization alone?

if so, how can they achieve this?

is there necessary any backend change for this changes to work?
