Greater Transparency with Advanced Data Privacy and Security Measures

Freshworks Marketplace apps now enable developers to offer greater insights into data privacy and security, which can help build and gain clarity and trust regarding the usage of their end-user data especially in today’s era of AI/GenAI.

What is it for you as developers?

  • Become more transparent regarding your data practices
  • Build secure, reliable, and trusted apps
  • Build clear distinction regarding your AI offerings

App category for AI updates

When publishing the app that is powered with AI, you can choose the “AI Category” and we have also enhanced the capability to add 3 categories as seen in the below screenshot.

If the app uses a third-party AI, the app would be listed with a “Not governed by Freshworks Freddy AI” badge.

What are the new privacy and security details?

As an app developer while publishing the app, go through the detailed declaration about the app which confirms if the app is built using Freshworks’ Freddy AI and follows the Freshworks AI policy.

When customers search for apps in the app gallery, privacy and security details are displayed alongside a description of the app’s AI capabilities. If third-party AI tools are used, the app provides information on how data is sent to these tools and what data is stored. These insights help customers make informed decisions about the app’s AI functionality and data practices. Declaring data privacy and security information builds trust in the app and its use of AI.

Also, the apps that are powered with AI and implemented with the Freddy AI and Freddy AI policy would feature a “Verified by Freshworks” badge. If the apps are powered with third-party AI apart from Freddy AI, the apps would feature a “Not supported by Freddy AI”.

Since the published apps do not have this information, we recommend that the app developers navigate through the developer portal to update the details so that this sheds light on the app’s data privacy and security declaration.
