Node 20 or higher with fdk

Hello,

I have a custom app with fdk. I would like to use node 24 or at least node 20, but the only node version supported is node 18. That is already end of life.
Am I missing something? If not, is there a plan to support the new node versions?

Hi @Clau,

Freshworks CLI (FDK) only supports Node.js v18 for now. You’re right that it’s end-of-life already, and our platform is yet to support active versions.

Our team is working to support Node.js v22 directly. We will have an update within a few months.

Please use Node.js v18 for now. This version still supports building and publishing the app.
When the update is available, it will be smoother to update to Node.js v22 or v24 when it’s supported on our platform. Usually, Node.js upgrades will not require many changes in the app.

Hey @Raviraj
thank you for your answer. Appreciate that there’s some effort to support newer Node.js versions.

I just wanted to leave a post to back up @Clau’s request, asl Clau is not the only one not happy with v18.
Not every developer has the freedom of admin rights on her/his computer and I had to go up some organizational instances to get the allowance using an EOL version and not the one which is rolled out via software mgmt tool (which is the latest v24).

Best
Tom
